TICKETS ON SALE NOW FOR EMPIRE STATE GAMES The Empire State Games are coming to Westchester County this summer for the first time and you can be part of the fun by purchasing your tickets for the Games and the Opening Night ceremonies. A limited number of tickets are now on sale at the Westchester County Center box office in White Plains and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The largest sporting event next to the Olympics, the Empire State Games offers nearly 40 sporting competitions for 6,000 amateur athletes ages 13 through 75 who come from all over the state. Tickets are available for a variety of events ranging from archery and basketball to swimming and wrestling that will take place at more than 20 venues throughout Westchester from Thursday through Sunday, July 26 through 29. And, a limited number of tickets are available for opening ceremonies on Wednesday evening, July 25, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla. Opening ceremonies will include a gala salute to the athletes, the lighting of the official Empire State Games torch and a spectacular fireworks display. Master Passes, which allow access to all games events throughout the four days and admission to opening ceremonies, are $18 for adults, $8 for children ages 6 to 12; children under 6 are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult. Tickets for opening ceremonies only are $8 for adults, $5 for children. A Day Pass, which allows access to all events on one day only, is $8 for adults, $5 for children, and can only be purchased on the day of the event at the venue location; it is not available in advance at the County Center. County Center Box office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Empire State Games tickets must be paid for in cash only. Tickets for the Empire State Games are not available through TicketMaster. The County Center is located at 198 Central Avenue in White Plains, at the junction of Route 119 (Tarrytown Road) and the Bronx River Parkway.
